Ingredients
Method
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the Meat: Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant. Add ground beef or sausage, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Drain excess fat. Mix in 1 cup of marinara sauce and set aside.
- Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 2 cups of shredded mozzarella, and half of the Parmesan cheese. Season with salt, pepper, and half of the chopped parsley.
Layer the Lasagna:
- Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Place a layer of Creamette lasagna noodles over the sauce.
- Spread a layer of the cheese mixture over the noodles.
- Add a layer of the meat mixture.
- Sprinkle with some fresh basil and oregano.
- Repeat these layers until you run out of ingredients, ending with a generous layer of marinara sauce and a final sprinkling of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake the Lasagna: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
- Let it Rest: Allow the lasagna to rest for 10-15 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Vegetarian Option: Replace meat with roasted vegetables like bell peppers, mushrooms, and zucchini.
- White Sauce Variation: Use a white sauce or bechamel instead of marinara for a creamy white lasagna.
- Storage Tips: Store leftovers in airtight containers and reheat in the oven or microwave with a splash of water to retain moisture.
