Ingredients
  

  • 4 fresh kumquats halved
  • 1 1/2 oz gin
  • 3/4 oz St. Germain liqueur
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup or honey for a twist
  • 3 oz club soda
  • Ice
  • Garnishes: fresh mint leaves or a twist of kumquat peel

Method
 

  1. Prepare Kumquats: Wash and halve 4 fresh kumquats.
  2. Muddle the Kumquats: In a cocktail shaker, gently muddle the halved kumquats to release their juice and oils.
  3. Add Ingredients: Add 1 1/2 oz gin, 3/4 oz St. Germain liqueur, and 1/2 oz simple syrup to the shaker.
  4. Shake and Mix: Fill the shaker with ice and shake gently to combine all ingredients.
  5. Finish the Cocktail: Strain the mixture into a chilled glass, and top with 3 oz of club soda for a bubbly finish.
  6. Garnish: Add a twist of kumquat peel or fresh mint leaves for garnish. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can substitute gin with vodka for a different flavor profile.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less simple syrup to suit your taste.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, replace gin and St. Germain with sparkling water and a dash of elderflower syrup.
